During grad school, I proudly served as the Lecture Series Director. The mission of GSDS is to strive to create a robust student community and to promote diversity throughout the STEM fields.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Wellness
I, along with two other grad students of color, founded the UCSB DEIW Committee for the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology. Our mission is to improve the experiences of historically marginalized students in EEMB by:

Increasing faculty/staff awareness and support of those students’ perspectives and needs;

Increasing representation in the department at the student, faculty, and staff levels;

Instilling a stronger sense of community within the department and creating networks of support among graduate students.

UCSB Black Grad Student Association
The Black Graduate Student Association provides social resources and academic support to meet the needs of Black graduate students. We are committed to mentorship, research, and service while also focusing on an inclusive environment where all students at UCSB can thrive. I served as the Outreach Chair during the 2018-2019 academic year.
