I am a PhD Candidate at the University of California Santa Barbara in the department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology and Fulbright Switzerland Fellow 2021-22. My areas of interest lie in parasite ecology and conservation biology.
I work with the Channel Islands National Park and the US Geological Survey to describe the ecology of infectious diseases for vulnerable species. Currently, my research focuses on preventing a parasite-induced extinction of the San Miguel Island Fox.
I am passionate about diversifying the sciences, which means pushing the bounds of our knowledge while fostering an atmosphere of compassion and cultural humility. People will never exist without their biases. However, we all have a role in dismantling those biases, which is a continuous and iterative process.
